Homes In Bellmare

Homes in Bellmare are usually little cottages. While there are smaller towns within Bellmare, some Perfpals live out in the countryside or even in the woods. The small towns typically have just the basics that the Perfpals need. Homes in the small towns are usually made of stone or brick, but continue to intertwine themselves with nature somehow. Usually, they will have flora wrapping around them, or be shaped to look less rigid and more cozy. 
Homes outside of the towns are again, usually cottages. The trees in Bellmare grow in all sorts of colors, so it's not uncommon to see homes made with pink or blue wood instead of the traditional brown. Perfpals love the smaller details in life, so they usually have their cottages crafted with all of the tiny, cutest little details you can imagine. Heart windows, rainbow pebble path, or big, lush bushes are practically a necessity for these little guys. Most homes echo the olden times, preferring more vintage decor inside, and opting for a fireplace to warm the home. 
When traveling into the woods, things get a bit more obscure... Not only is Bellmare home to colorful trees, but also giant flowers! Some Perfpals who are magically gifted reside within these giant Flowers. They have to take care of their homes, ensuring they do not bring anything inside that would harm them. To leave their home, they simply need to push on a designated Petal hard enough for it to open. These homes do wilt away in the wintertime, but Perfpals who live in such homes are known to migrate anyway. 
Perfpals here are more opposed to modern things, and keep Bellmare as a preserved treasure. There's a promise from Oscar himself, “You will never find concrete or the grey breath of factories in his beautiful nation.”

 Bellmare's Environment

Due to the "bloomwild," plants in Bellmare have special magical properties. As stated above, flowers grow to massive heights, but they are not the only things that are affected. Giant fruit trees grow in the deepest parts of the woods, producing harvests that could feed all of Sirencester! Most Perfpals do not live this deep into the woods, but many Perfpals travel into them to harvest what they can. Bellmare is also home to flora with healing properties. Due to the blessings of Meiying and Oscar. Bellmare is the number one export of medicine in all of Cuddleluna.

The Deepwoods
 The Deepwoods are harvesting grounds for giant fruit.  It's quite dark here due to the giant leaves above, so Perfpals rely on glowing mushrooms to see on the woodland floor. Not many creatures opt to live here; plants seem to rule this area. Fun fact, the deepwoods inspired the Verdara gacha game!

The Rootwalks
Rootwalks is the area just outside the Deepwoods. Here, the giant roots from the Deepwood's trees peak out of the ground. The grass shimmers here beautifully in all types of conditions. This area can be described as a "prairie" where not many Perfpals live near each other. The roots bulging out of the soil don't make for the most optimal farmland, but those looking to get away from all city life tend to be drawn toward here. 

The Fairymedows
The Fairymedows are where those giant flower homes pop up! In the Spring and Summer, this place is bustling with Perfpal life. The flowers sprout up so densely, this place can become more bustling than other Perfpal cities! Though in the Fall and Winter, this area is completely desolate. If a Perfpal ever travels to Athenley, it's recommended to take a peek down at Bellmare's Fairymedows; it will be one of the most gorgeous views they'll see in their whole life.

The Streamside
This is the countryside of Bellmare, where Perfpals choose to live on farms or tuck their cozy little cottages. There is nothing too special here, but one thing of note is the beautiful, clear streams. Most of Bellmare's permanent population (excluding those who only migrate here in the warm seasons) live on The Streamside. Most of Perfpal's vegetable harvests are from here.

The Heartgrove

These are the small towns Bellmare citizens choose to live in.  Each town strives for that old-fashioned look, with stone roadways and carriage traffic. Every town has a special Heartgrove banner on display, letting them know they have entered a travel zone. If a Perfpal wishes to leave Bellmare, they can catch the trains here! Small events are held here sometimes, but it's always something small and humble. Living in these towns is very expensive, and some Perfpals complain about all of the rules of living here.

The culture in Bellllmare

Perfpals in Bellmare are known to be a little stuck, but overall kind and good-hearted. They welcome trade, share food freely, and deny anything destructive to the environment.  Perfpals who live here usually have a thread corresponding to nature in some way, but it is not required. 

Bellmare Politics
In Bellmare, Perfpals must listen to Oscar as well as the voice of the forest. Bellmare was the first area to develop a legal process and reintroduce the idea of Knights into modern Perfpal history. The flora in Bellmare reacts to its citizens' hearts. Whenever something dubious is going on, or the members become too self-absorbed, the environment reacts for the worse. Some say it's the cry of Anicnet Perfpals, warning their ancestors not to follow in their footsteps.  Oscar is no king, but rather the "Verdant Steward" of Bellmare. Naturally, he was assigned to look over Bellmare due to his connections with nature. Oscar feels the forest’s pulse. When the trees grow uneasy, he knows it before the leaves fall. When the rivers strain under a dry season, he can sense the riverstones warming. This connection makes him deeply protective, sometimes fiercely so, of Bellmare’s boundaries. While Perfpals may not always agree with his harsh stance on modernization, they understand he is just following the calls of the land. Bellmare is a Monarchy, meaning laws are made completely by Oscar. Perfpals traveling into Bellmare must learn of its strict rules before entering.

Bellmare Music and Arts
Bellmare is known for its two extremes: being as refined as possible, and being as lax as possible. It is the birthplace of both classical and country music. It does not matter where you live in Bellmare; you are exposed to both equally.  Perfpals living here realize that both take talent and hard work, so they respect the opposite's dedication and aesthetic. While some Perfpals choose to blend in with the land in an elegant way, some choose to do it in a more cozy way.  Art in Bellmare is but a reflection of its people. Both approaches are seen as valid, complementary, and necessary. The forest itself seems to nod in approval at both, as if it recognizes that its balance is needed.

Social Culture
Bellmare's Perfpals are described as polite, carefully measured speech, and often poetic or metaphorical. They laugh easily and are more prone to showing physical affection with one another. Unfortunately, Bellmare's Perfpals are not always the most welcome to those who are not from Bellmare. They often look down upon others, as they do not share core values about their Planet. This divide is usually why Bellmare Perfpals are rarely move out. Emotions are not kept down inside for Bellmare Perfpals. They freely express how they feel, which often gets them called "childish" in other areas.
